Media Archive

The media archive will house articles pertaining to species at risk stewardship and education throughout the province. Here you will find pertinent newspaper clippings, interview transcripts, press releases, and audio files. New materials will continually be added as they become available. Species at Risk - References pertaining to species at risk in the province including: Wolverine, Woodland Caribou, Polar Bear, Peregrine Falcon, Newfoundland Marten, Piping Plover, Low Northern Rockcress, Grey Cheek Thrush, Fernald's and Long's Braya, Barrens Willow, and marine speices at risk.

General - Includes general references on topics such as educational activities, funding, environmental issues, conferences, workshops and community events.

Legislation, Regulations and Policy - Articles related to the development, implementation, and enforcement of provincial and federal species at risk regulations.

Wetlands Stewardship - Wetlands stewardship in the province is carried out by the Eastern Habitat Joint Venture. Several communities have already committed to protecting and enhancing wetlands in their area by signing good will agreements with the province. This section includes articles about communities that have already signed stewardship agreements, those that are preparing to sign and other initiatives carried out by the Eastern Habitat Joint Venture Program.
